Social Media Strategies Summit

Higher education marketers and communications teams are constantly grappling with the sheer number of social media accounts across campus. When each unit, team, faculty, and degree has its own account, it’s near-impossible to figure out who’s sharing what and when. Social Media Marketing Challenges in the Biotech Industry

Direct Marketing Observations

I once heard this line in a podcast, “Take what’s important and make it interesting.” It resonated with me immediately. If there was ever a direct call to action for all that we do in social media, particularly social media marketing in the biotech space, then that would be it. I don’t see a lot of “how-to-do” social media marketing articles that focus on the biotechnology industry, and there’s probably a good reason for that.

Do This for Non-Purchase Conversions

Jon Loomer

By “non-purchase,” I’m talking about leads, registrations, custom events for website engagement , and any other type of light-touch action. These are conversions that happen quickly, freely, and in many cases, multiple times over the course of a day or several days. First, make sure to compare attribution. By default, reporting includes 7-day click 1-day view attribution, and that’s simply not relevant to this type of conversion.

Meta Should Display Organic Results

Jon Loomer

Meta needs to display organic results … This is something that has bothered me for years. The results we see in Ads Manager are incomplete, and not just because of issues related to attribution. It’s because we’re missing an important element. All of the results you see in Ads Manager are from people you paid to reach. This makes sense, of course, but it doesn’t reflect the full impact of your ads — especially if you have an ad that’s engaging or even goes viral.

Custom Events Can Break Custom Metrics

Jon Loomer

I love to use custom events , but this issue stumped me forever… I’ll add a custom event to a custom metric formula, and it’ll use a weird string of characters instead. It’s not just a display issue since the metric won’t calculate results. Other times the metric just loads and loads and never displays. If I go back to the formula, it breaks the custom event name into separate metrics by space.
