Well, recently, HubPages has decided to give you your own subdomain and you better hurry if you want it to be your name. Let me say that I think this is a good move – for HubPages and for you. HubPages is one avenue for your articles to get you traffic, links, and an increase in your authority and reputation.

Once you’ve registered and filled in your profile information (see step #3 on my hub about promoting HubPages using CommentLuv and use your blog URL & blog RSS feed in place of the HubPages URLs). Articles featured in the resources come primarily from people I interact with in the comments, and on the social networks.

Use social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook to let people know about the contest. Create a hub about your blog on HubPages. Make it easy for your readers to share your posts by installing social bookmarking plugins like SocialMarker and Digg Buttons. Hold a contest and give prizes to your readers.

This affected anyone who used article marketing as a way to build links and drive traffic to their websites, since article networks were hit the hardest , though some—like HubPages— regained their rankings in subsequent updates. Later, social networks like Digg, Last.fm, and others were affected as well.
